Performing Arts
Curriculum Intent
The aim of performing arts is to give pupils an opportunity to develop their understanding of music and drama. The subjects aim to develop pre-existing performing arts skills for those who currently have or have previously had lessons or involvement in performing arts.
Performing Arts will teach Spiritual Development by:
Ensuring pupils feel safe in the environment to devise and perform. Pupils support one another and develop their skills together.
Performing Arts will teach Social Excellence through:
The use of team skills and individual development. Being role models to one another during performance and rehearsal and encouraging one another.
Performing Arts will teach Academic Excellence by:
Developing key knowledge, appraisal skills, devising and composing skills and performance skills.
