Transition Information

We know that the opportunity to visit the school, meet Form Tutors, have parental information evenings and ensure key information is shared, is part of the process that helps parents, pupils and staff feel prepared for September. We will keep updating this transition page with key information to help parents and pupils feel more informed about Blessed Robert Sutton. We will also send out emails to parents using the address on their admissions form, if this changes please use the transition email below to update us.

Enhanced Transition – Thursday 25th June

We will be contacting Parents/Carers of a select group of pupils who will be offered an additional Transition morning on Thursday 25th June from 9.00am – 12.30pm. This session is for those pupils with special educational needs or have been identified by their primary school as in need of additional support during this transition period.

Transition Information Evening – Tuesday 30th June

Prior to the Transition Day, on Wednesday 1st July we will be running three 45-minute parental meetings at 5pm, 6pm and 7pm led by Mr Gray our Headteacher and I. During this time, we will outline our plans for the Transition Days, September start plans and the year ahead. We will open the Bus Park for parking for these sessions. To support with logistics of this, please click the following link  to sign up to one of the three sessions:  Parental information evening sign up

Parents/Carers and pupils will have the opportunity to meet other key staff during the session and will leave with a BRS transition bag, full of information for starting secondary school.

Please ensure you have signed up on this form by Wednesday 24th June to support the planning and seating needed for this event.

Transition Day – Wednesday 1st July

We are delighted to invite our new Year 7s to our Transition Day on Wednesday 1st July, beginning at 8.25am and finishing at 2.30pm.

During the Transition Day we aim to offer your child a ‘taste’ of Secondary school lessons and activities and give them the opportunity to familiarise themselves with the school buildings and our routines (lesson bells, changes of room etc.). Pupils should wear their current school uniform and will also need to bring trainers for a PE lesson or use on the Astro at lunchtime.

Please complete the form below to let us know if your child is able to make the transition day on Wednesday 1st July. This includes sections to provide information on dietary requirements, medical needs and onward travel at the end of the day.

Year 6 Transition Day Sign Up – Wednesday 1st July 2026 – Fill in form

Please ensure you have signed up on this form by Wednesday 24th June to support the planning of the transition day.

Break and Lunch

We will be providing pupils with a school lunch, but they are welcome to bring their own packed lunches if they wish to. Please indicate any dietary requirements on the online form above. We also advise that pupils bring their own snack and drink for break, as they will not be able to purchase from our canteen on this day.

Drop Off and Pick Up

There is no on-site parking for Parents/Carers; with this in mind, please do not drive onto the school site to drop off pupils on the Transition Day. We would advise all Parents/Carers to park away from the school and walk down to the school site. Pupils can then be dropped off at Reception. Please be aware that Parents/Carers will not be able to enter the school building at drop off. We will invite you into school for collection at 2.30pm. If your child is walking home with a sibling or being picked up by another Parent/Carer or if your child has any medical needs, please indicate this on the sign-up form at the link above or via the QR.

If you have any questions please feel free to get in touch via the following email transition@brs.srscmat.co.uk.
